How it works

Four steps from your first call to settlement.

  1. You call us

We briefly discuss what happened and arrange an appointment. Often the same day.

  2. On-site inspection

We come to you, document the damage with photos and take measurements.

  3. Your report

You receive a report that serves as proof of your damage to the insurer.

  4. Settlement

After you assign your claim to us, we bill the other party's insurer directly. As a rule, you pay nothing upfront.

What is in an accident damage report?

The insurer bases the settlement of your claim on these eight points. Select a point to see what it means.

With these figures you prove your loss, including for loss-of-use compensation or a rental car. More terms are explained in the car glossary. To see what a finished report looks like, take a look at the anonymised sample report (PDF, 4.4 MB, in German).

Why an independent assessor?

As a rule, anyone who suffers damage in an accident that was not their fault is free to choose their own assessor. This is not legal advice. If in doubt, a specialist traffic lawyer can assess your individual case.

What we do for you

Our focus is accident damage. We also provide valuations and technical reports for buying, selling and disputes.

Car reports for all makes

Every make has its own quirks when it comes to repair and valuation: aluminium and matrix LED lights at Audi, battery and large cast parts at Tesla, or the high diminished value of a Porsche. We assess vehicles of all manufacturers, plus motorcycles, e-scooters, e-bikes, motorhomes and vans, in all of Berlin and the surrounding area.

All makes and vehicle types

All over Berlin and the surrounding area

We come to wherever your vehicle is: your home, your workplace or the garage.

What does the report cost me?

After an accident that was not your fault, the other party's liability insurer usually pays the costs. In most cases we bill the insurer directly once you have assigned your claim to us, so you do not have to pay anything upfront. We clarify in advance whether this is possible in your case. If you caused the accident yourself, or for valuations for buying, selling or classic cars, we agree the costs with you in advance. All prices are listed under Costs and process.

Is a car assessor the same as a vehicle assessor?

Yes. In German, "Kfz" stands for motor vehicle, and in everyday speech many people simply say "Autogutachter" (car assessor). It is the same expert: after an accident they document and assess the damage to your car, and they also inspect motorcycles, vans and motorhomes. How to recognise a good assessor is explained under vehicle assessors in Berlin.

Can the insurer tell me which assessor to use?

No. If the accident was not your fault, you are generally free to choose your own assessor. An assessor sent by the insurer works on the insurer's behalf. More on this under your rights after an accident.

Do you also come to my district?

Yes. We cover all twelve Berlin districts and the surrounding area, for example Schönefeld and Königs Wusterhausen. The inspection takes place wherever your car is: at home, at work or at the garage. You will find local information, for example for Mitte, Neukölln and Marzahn; all other areas are listed under service areas in Berlin.

Do you assess all car makes?

Yes. We assess vehicles of all manufacturers, from Audi to Mercedes-Benz to VW, as well as motorcycles, e-scooters, e-bikes, motorhomes and vans. For many makes there is dedicated information, for example on Tesla or Porsche. The overview is under reports for all makes.

How quickly can you come?

Often the same day. Call us or send us a WhatsApp message and we will give you a specific appointment.

What do I need for the appointment?

Have your vehicle registration certificate (Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I) ready and, if known, the other driver's name, licence plate and insurer, as well as the police reference number. We will clarify everything else on site. What matters right after the accident is listed in the checklist after an accident.

What is in the report?

The accident damage report records the damage with photos and states the repair costs, repair time, replacement value, residual value and, where applicable, the diminished value. These figures are the basis for your compensation, including loss-of-use compensation or a rental car. The terms are explained in our car glossary.

Repair cost estimate or full report?

For minor damage, a repair cost estimateis often enough. As a rule of thumb, the threshold is around €750. A full report also includes the replacement value, residual value and diminished value, and is the stronger basis for larger damage. We will look at your vehicle without obligation and tell you what makes sense.

What if the insurer cuts items from the claim?

Cuts are common. We check the reasons given and, if necessary, prepare a professional expert statement. For legal steps, we recommend a specialist traffic lawyer.

What qualifications does your assessor have?

Tilo Neumann is a master craftsman in motor vehicle technology and a certified motor vehicle service technician (both Chamber of Crafts Magdeburg), and passed the expert examination with the Association of Independent Motor Vehicle Assessors (VfK) e.V. He works as an independent assessor, not tied to insurers or garages. His certificates are listed under Qualifications.
